Ben Harper

Ben Harper is a talented, talented musician and poet whom my roommate Lawrence recommended. We saw him in concert at Jones Beach! (With Jack Johnson and G Love too.) It was an amazing, moving experience.

Harper weaves many political and progressive themes into his work, such as race equality, social justice, and environmental issues. The album that focuses most on these issues is Fight For Your Mind, which is highly recommended. His albums use a range of cool funk, long jams and Jimi-style electric guitar riffs to focus on these issues, as well as romantic themes and Harper's deep Christian beliefs.
