Babies 'R' Us ignores dads
Dear Babies 'R' Us,
As a dad-to-be, I was disappointed to start shopping in your store and find various sexist language around. The worst example was the "Why moms like it" explanation on every tag on every product, as in "Stroller ... Why moms like it". I guess fathers don't use strollers? I realize the bulk of your customers must be mothers, or this text wouldn't exist at all, and that I see similar transgressions on lots of baby products. But the store I visited today seemed to be about 30-40% men shopping. Are we not welcome there? Should I leave all the shopping to my wife? And all the cooking, too? She can raise the baby while I go drink martinis at my ad agency. C'mon, Babies R Us, it's 2013.
Sincerely,
Jesse Richards
